Kings Hill Fall to Defeat as Cuxton Complete the Double
Cuxton 1991 4 v 0 Kings Hill
Kings Hill fell to a 3rd successive defeat as Cuxton completed the league double over them, having also been victorious at the Sports Park in mid January. Cheered on by some fantastic mascots from our under 8 sections, Kings Hill once again had to shuffle the pack in the starting line up due to player unavailability.

The game started evenly with both sides enjoying some early possession. However the hosts took the lead after a missed clearance gifted the ball to a Cuxton midfielder who advanced and clipped the ball over goalkeeper Jacob Hunt and into the top corner.

Cuxton soon doubled their advantage when hesitation in the Kings Hill defence allowed a Cuxton forward to reach a low cross first to prod home. Once again with a mountain to climb from early in the game, Kings Hill gained some foothold before the break with Vinny Wade heading narrowly over the bar and Cam Croucher seeing his long range effort well saved by the home goalkeeper.
Morgan Williamson and Will Seage were introduced for the second half and Kings Hill offered some improvement. A long range free kick from Williamson hit the inside of the post and Luke McHugh, on his first start since a long term injury, unfortunately headed the rebound narrowly wide. This was to be the visitors best opportunity as, despite no lack of effort, they were unable to create any more chances before Cuxton extended their lead with what looked like a suspiciously offside goal.

They later added a fourth with a headed effort and could have increased the lead further but for a couple of fine saves from Hunt. Kings Hill battled to the end, and Max Sutton rattled the woodwork near the end with a thunderous long range effort, but Cuxton were well deserved winners, leaving Kings Hill with a lot of work to do.
