Kings Hill Hit Back with Dominant Home Win
Kings Hill 2 v 1 Tenterden Town
Kings Hill’s men’s 1st team bounced back from midweek disappointment in perfect fashion to put in a dominant performance and claim all 3 points against visitors Tenterden Town. With two changes to the starting eleven from Wednesday’s visit to Snodland, Kings Hill were looking for a strong start. However, they were behind very early as skipper George Hawkins was adjudged to have handled the ball in clearing an opposition corner. Tenterden made no mistake from the spot to go 1-0 up. Kings Hill did not let this affect them though and immediately got onto the front foot, with Max Sutton forcing a good save from the visiting goalkeeper. Kings Hill were moving the ball around well and with Macca and Charlie Hatton causing the Tenterden defence problems, further chances came the home side’s way. On 35 minutes Kings Hill got a deserved equaliser with Hatton providing a neat finish at the far post. With Kings Hill’s midfield of Nathaniel Waul, Morgan Williamson and Keiron Kennerley dominant, chances continued to be created and only last ditch defending from the visitors kept them level at half time.
The home side came out after half time with renewed vigour and ten minutes in they were awarded a free kick, fully 30 metres out. Williamson stepped up and dispatched a rocket into the top corner giving the goalkeeper no chance and putting the Spitfires 2-1 ahead. The half continued in similar fashion to the first with several chances being created without being converted. Macca and Will Seage both went close but in the end, Williamson’s strike was enough to separate the sides and give Kings Hill a valuable 3 points, providing the perfect reaction to the midweek defeat.

“What a superb reaction!
Truthfully with how Tenterden got the penalty with GH trying to clear a corner and hitting his hand, I thought that maybe our chips are down this week as it was so early on, but we’d already shown signs of looking really comfortable on the ball and nearly scored from the kick off!
We got into a real flow after that and were disappointed not to come in with quite a reasonably significant lead at half time, and we discussed some bits during the break which thought would give us the edge and boys went out and delivered just that.
Its a shame that the scoreline didn’t reflect the amount of chances which we created and how good the performance was!”
