Kings Hill’s miserable run of form continued at the Sports Park as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to their South London visitors. An extremely poor 1st half performance led to the game being all but over by half time with the Spitfires trailing 3-0 at the break. Another slow start by Kings Hill was punished very early when the visitors scored directly from a corner. Stansfeld’s lead was soon doubled after a short defensive back pass was not dealt with by the home goalkeeper, leaving Stansfeld to roll the ball into an empty net. Bad went to worse soon afterwards as the visitors broke down their left and a pinpoint cross was easily nodded home by the impressive Stansfeld centre forward.

Kings Hill made four changes at half time and showed much improved energy and intensity in the second half but, in truth, the outcome of the match was never in doubt leaving the Spitfires with much to ponder about how they can turn their current form around.

“A fair result in the end really, we felt a bit disappointed not to come away with all 3 but we didn’t create enough chances from our entries into the final 3rd which is something we’re looking into as we have to start creating more.
It was a proper battle of a game which was always going to be in a local derby like that and both teams were at it, which is always an enjoyable game really.
Its been an interesting few weeks with us finding ourselves with probably not the points total we’d like, but performances are starting to improve and we’re looking a lot more positive at the moment compared to how we finished October really”
