Kings Hill FC supports St Gabriel’s Food Bank collections

Kings Hill F.C. is once again coming together to support the St Gabriel’s Kings Hill Food Bank with our annual food collections.
For a number of years now, St Gabriel’s Church has run the Kings Hill Food Bank, providing crisis food parcels and hampers for individuals and families in Kings Hill, West Malling, Leybourne and the surrounding areas. In 2024 alone, the Food Bank distributed over 300 parcels and supported more than 800 people, with much of that help going directly to Kings Hill residents – thanks to donations from local churches, schools, community groups and, proudly, Kings Hill F.C. supporters.

Food donations collected by Kings Hill FC at Kings Hill Sports Park

Football clubs at every level, now work closely with local food banks, especially over the winter months and during the festive period. From professional sides like Swansea City and Motherwell, who link matchdays to food bank appeals, to grassroots and youth clubs organising collection weekends for their local food banks, the message is the same: our game is at the heart of the community, and we all have a part to play. Kings Hill F.C. is committed to being part of that wider effort here on our own doorstep.

How our collection will work

Once again this year, we’ll be asking players, parents, coaches and supporters to bring along donations to training sessions and home fixtures, with all items going directly to St Gabriel’s Kings Hill Food Bank. The Food Bank team then use these donations to make up parcels and hampers for local families who are struggling with the cost of living or facing sudden changes in their circumstances.

All donations can be dropped off at the Sports Park café area.

What can I donate?

St Gabriel’s Food Bank is currently running at very high levels of demand, and there is a particular need for everyday cupboard essentials and household items.
If you’re able to help, please consider donating items such as:

Tinned food (meat, fish, vegetables, soups, beans)
Pasta, rice and packet meals
Long-life milk and juice
Breakfast cereals
Tea, coffee and hot chocolate
Biscuits and treats
Toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, sanitary products)
Household essentials (washing-up liquid, laundry detergent, toilet roll)

Every single item, no matter how small, makes a real difference to someone locally.

Football Club, Local Church, One Community

St Gabriel’s Church exists to serve the people of Kings Hill and the surrounding area, offering worship, community events and practical support – with the Food Bank now a vital part of that work. As a club, Kings Hill F.C. is proud to stand alongside them again this year, using our teams, fixtures and networks to help get food to those who need it most.

Thank you in advance to every player, parent, coach and supporter who is able to contribute. Together, we can ensure that the Kings Hill community continues to look after its own – on and off the pitch.
